Rachael Mancini BA, MA
Registered Counselling Therapist- Candidate (RCT-C)
My Approach
I aim for a relaxed, client-focused approach that is rooted in building a strong and trusting relationship. A foundational element of my practice is establishing a safe and comfortable environment, which is ideal for those who may feel apprehensive or are new to the therapeutic process. I am genuinely interested in learning about your story and experiences, and I focus on collaborative treatment to meet uniqueness and strengths. In addition to counselling therapy, I have twelve years of experience working in the mental health field with a diverse range of clientele, particularly youth, marginalized, and vulnerable populations. This has led me to explore modalities outside of traditional psychology, highlighting the role of social systems and experiences that shape our individualism. In my current practice, I aim to build an eclectic approach that is generated from the problems expressed instead of defining a problem through a singular modality. I believe in therapy as an avenue to find the root of the problem - not just symptom management - which can then help us break cycles and patterns to find a confident and fulfilling way of life. I also work from a skills-building perspective with youth and adults looking to manage a variety of concerns such as anxiety, ADHD, or social relationships. I focus on fun and effective ways to connect with youth to build a client-therapist relationship that has been shown to greatly improve the therapeutic experience.
I'm thinking about it..
